Simon West

Simon’s career commenced with various management roles within the multinational ‘Procter and Gamble’. Simon has also fulfilled General Management positions with 2 major online Australian wine retailers and was the founding partner of a contract packing facility for the food industry. Working for several wineries gave him the foundation to launch his consultancy business ‘Fullglass Management’. Fullglass has provided strategic, brand, export and financial advice. His particular specialty includes exporting to North America and China. Key clients have included industry and government bodies such as ‘Wine Australia’, ‘South Australian Department of Primary Industries’, ‘Citrus Australia’, and ‘Wine Victoria’. Simon has held several Board positions, including ‘Australian Vignerons’, ‘Brain Injury South Australia’ and Water Polo South Australia’. Simon has a Bachelor of Business with a Major in Marketing and is a visiting lecturer in business at the Adelaide University, International School of Business.

DR DARREN OEMCKE​

Dr Darren Oemcke is a director and co-founder of Hydra Consulting, Chair of Magmell, Chair of luxury wine tourism business Invina, Chair of technology start-up Accelerator FOMENT and Chair of Surfing South Australia.

He works extensively in export market development with clients including the Government of South Australia, Wine Australia, Wines of Western Australia and Wine Victoria. He also advises clients in artificial intelligence, blockchain, IT implementation, edutech, agtech, metals manufacturing, agricultural development, water management, winemaking and packaging.

Darren has a PhD in Environmental Engineering, a Masters Degree in Water Engineering and a Masters Degree in Management. He has studied business and leadership at some of the world’s most prestigious business schools including the University of Melbourne, Australian National University and Harvard University. He is also a visiting lecturer in business at the Flinders University Business School and Adelaide University International School of Business

Travis Clapp

Travis is the founder and lead consultant at Web Design Cafe, a boutique agency founded in 2010 offering bespoke IT support, custom platform design and learning management systems (LMS) consulting services.

Having previously worked for Workstar, UTS, SAE, Open Colleges and the edX project (Adelaide University), clients have included SA Health (RAH), SA Government (Elibrary) and Prime Practice (Academy). With over twenty years experience in education, design & IT, in 2015 Travis founded mobile-first Learning Experience Platform (LXP), Opentute, and is passionate about improving learning outcomes through the power of technology.

From 2020, Web Design Cafe is proudly leading the IT implementation at Magmell, with the power of the Opentute platform.

Jing Cao

Jing established his career in professional training, working for one of the most prominent training organisations in China. Before migrating to Australia, Jing was one of China’s leading experts in IELTS test preparation for people planning to study, work, and migrate to Australia. In 2013 He established the company CLCA in South Australia to assist businesses and organisations embrace the China opportunity.

Jing sits on many advisory boards to provide strategic advice, including the Department of State Growth (Tasmanian Government), Australian Small Business Advisory Services, Australian Boarding Schools Association and Tourism Industry Council South Australia. He is a visiting lecturer at the Professional and Continuing Education at the University of Adelaide.

Jing is also the Program Director at the Australia China Business Council (South Australia branch). Established in the late 1980’s, the Australia China Business Council is the premier business organisation dedicated to promoting trade and investment cooperation between Australia and China.

Ms. Chonghua ( Dorothy ) Jiang

Ms Chonghua ( Dorothy) Jiang is one of South Australia’s most experienced migration specialists focusing on Business, Skilled and Education visa migration from China. Dorothy is a MARA-registered migration agent and has practiced in this industry for over 20 years. She is founder of Kingway Group China which established an office in Adelaide in 2006 and has gone on to pave the way for hundreds of high-net-worth business migrants, skilled migrants and students to study, live and work in South Australia, making a positive contribution to our State’s economy. Her Knowledge and services extend well beyond simply processing visa applications.

Dorothy holds Bachelor Degree of International Business & Taxation from Jilin University of Economics, and Finance, P.R China and MBA from the Business School of University of Adelaide and a Graduate Diploma in Migration Law and Practice from Victoria University. She also actively involved in supporting a recent research project of PHD student from University of Adelaide for in the research of “Chinese entrepreneur business and social relationship practice in Australia”, as well as a research proposal “Supporting Entrepreneurship of female business migrants from China’ by Dr Xin Deng and Dr Zhifang Wu at UniSA since 2018.

Ron Van Buuren

Ron is a business builder, advanced manufacturing and production specialist and leader in effective collaborations, he works on a very wide range of projects from manufacturing to business performance and operations. With almost 40 years across food, beverage wine and manufacturing, few consultants can match his practical engineering and business improvement skills. 

Ron is a co-founder and Managing Director of Hydra Consulting, which has built a reputation for developing effective strategy, supporting ‘disruptive’ transformation, innovative training and exceptional project delivery. Hydra’s clients include industry organisations, private companies and government in the agriculture, food, wine and manufacturing sectors with a focus on business development, growth, strategy, business improvement and project implementation. Ron is a mentor in the Business Growth and Innovation and Advanced Manufacturing programs at Flinders University, Deputy Chair and Treasurer of the Australian Science and Mathematics School, a director of The Gin Laboratory and a partner in luxury tourism operator Invina. He has completed the AICD Company Directors course and is a member of the AICD (Australian Institute of Company Directors). Ron brings extensive experience in consultancy and facilitation services in, business management, business development, technical support, site & project management, recruitment, procurement, QA, trade qualifications, and more. Excellent understanding of key industries including: government, infrastructure, resources, tourism, education, wine & beverage, automotive, timber, general manufacture, food, dairy, packaging and process engineering.
